Calling all Blue Mtns Deviants

I don't know if many of you are also members of Flickr, but a friend and I have decided to arrange a meet-up with Blue Mtns Flickr people in the New Year, with a view to ongoing meets. So .... thought I'd put it out there to my DA mates too!

"A friend from Flickr (who is thinking of moving to the Blue Mtns), has suggested we have a Flickr get together, with a view to regular meets.

Somewhere close to train station - I thought of Mountain Ridges (Katoomba), Red Door (Leura) or Blue Mist (Wentworth Falls) - all a hop, skip and a jump from stations.

It would be for the new year at this stage. See who's interested and discuss regular meets at first meeting!

I am only just starting out with my photography – inspired by my 18 year old daughter (iltby). I am enjoying it immensely and love photographing the amazing amount of life surrounding me.

What I’m discovering, is that photography puts more “life” into “life”! It makes me aware of my surroundings in a way that captures my imagination and opens up an inner well-spring. It makes me smile every day – looking at colours, shapes, living creatures, tones, images …. not just in response to what I photograph, but in looking at others photography also. It is a happy experience!

I’m hoping that in sharing my photography, others will feel such emotions also.. I think photography (as with other art forms) can offer a very healing and uplifting experience, and put us in touch with far more than we would ordinarily be aware of.

I’m mainly doing macro around our house and garden and pet shots.

When I get the opportunity, I expand my repertoire – just as possibilities present themselves.

My aim is to keep improving and growing as a photographer! I would very much appreciate comments, feedback and critique!

I really enjoyed a lot of the stuff in your gallery.... I also find your journal and deviant ID very encouraging since I am also very new at photography and discovering many of the same things that you mention! I'm seeing color, lines, shapes and people like I never did before! Much luck to you!
